A Long Time In the Making

My wife of 45 years (Kathy) taught me to play as she had been taught in Kansas City by the same junior instructors as Tom Watson. We played a couple of times a year for many years raising 7 children to enjoy & appreciate the game (we,along with the kids, are 22 yr original volunteers at the web.com tournament held in Springfield MO). We were able to move to Hollister MO in the golf community of Branson Creek 5 years ago and realized a dream to play more often. I retired recently and on this particular day I was enjoying the game with my wife and 2 friends. While not hitting the ball particularly good I did swing well on Hole 11, a 142 yd downhill par 3. Kathy immediately said perfect shot. It landed about 15 ft short of the pin and curled into the cup, no doubt about it, a perfect shot. Kathy who had never seen one in her 60 years of being around the game and me trying for 48 years--WOW. The smile has not come off my face.
