Ace in Tournament

Playing in the afternoon wave of the first round of the Silver Foils member-guest tournament at Oak Hill Country Club we came to the 4th hole of the West Course, which is a short par-3 with an undulating green surrounded by bunkers. The hole was playing shorter than normal at 126 yards. My partner left his tee shot about 20 feet above the hole. I hit one less club, landed pin high just to the right of the hole, took one big bounce forward on the firm green and pulled back into the hole.

This hole also happened to be the closest-to-the-pin hole for that round of the tournament. A number of shots ended up within two feet on the day, but each golfer came away knowing that while they hit a good shot, it was not good enough to get closest to the pin.
