Ace with my son
By David W On 19 August 2012
I've been playing golf for 40 years. There have been a handful of times when I've been close to an ace (hitting flags, rolling over the cups, just short or long, etc.) but this was my first hole in one. I hit a 3 hybrid to an elevated pin from 178 yards. The shot was on line with the pin from the start, but I thought it was a little long. My son (and regular playing partner) and I were climbing up to the green, when he said "You're in the hole". Disbelieving, I followed him up to find my ball stuck between the pin and the edge of the cup. I couldn't resist wiggling the pin to hear the ball drop into the cup. The fact that I was able to share golf's most special moment with my favorite playing partner, who also happens to be the greatest son to ever walk the planet, is beyond cool. I am a satisfied man.
