I was playing in a charity event at Oak Harbor in Slidell, LA. It was the 7th holes short 158 yard par 3 with a slight right to left tail wind. I hit 3rd in my group and I watched two of my buddies airmail the small green with 8 irons. I pulled my 9 iron and took a practice swing and a deep breath. I clipped the best 9 iron ever. My Pro V1 went straight up and rode the breeze before falling just over the bunker lip the ball was out of sight. My buddies all got quiet. Our fourth player hit and we headed to the green. The volunteer at the green was going crazy! When we got up to the green we didn't see any balls on the green and the guy shouted it's in the hole where's your ticket for the hole in one sweepstakes! It hit me. No I didn't buy any because I didn't have my wallet. I didn't see my first "ace" and I didn't win the big prize. I did win closest to the hole and a rather large bar tap that I'll gladly pay off this weekend.
