Better to be Lucky than Good
By Chris A On 4 August 2012
I've been golfing for three years, and I've only ever had two birdies and a handful of pars in those three years. It was already August and I've only golfed twice the whole summer because I started a new job and had school on the weekends, so I couldn't make it out much. I wasn't playing particularly well this day, but I stepped onto the 16th tee box and hit the Titleist off the turf, no tee, and realized I hit the ball perfectly straight. The ball was right in line with the pin the entire time. As it hit the green I could tell it was rolling right toward to the hole, but it was elevated so I couldn't judge the distance. Then the ball just disappeared. My foursome began to jump up and down and my best friend drove the cart up to the hole to verify. Sure enough, 3 years of golfing and I got my first hole in one. It's an unbelievable feeling.
