I was playing in a church outing with 3 of my teammates from school as we walked up to the 316 yard, dog-leg right, par 4, 11th hole.
My scramble team was 8 under so we were playing rather aggressively. I went up to the tee hoping to play a mid fade to role up near the green. As I swung through I left the face a little more open than I wanted to. At first I was upset, but then we realized it would either be great, or OB.
We walked up near the green bunker looking for my ball, when we gave up on it my partner joked that it is hiding from us in the hole. We started to walk away and I thought 'why not check?!'
I walked over to the hole and froze. My ball was there. I was speechless...!
It took me 3 more holes to finally understand what happened. 3 holes later we bursted into laughter about what happened. I was the first person to ace that par 4, ever! We finished strongly and won the scramble at 15 under. I was only 3 holes off, hole 14 was the par 3 hole-in-one prize of $10,000! Haha.
