Chris Doyle One Hop Dunk First Ace

I have been plaing golf since I was 15, but only recently have become an addict within the last 3-4. Now at 30, at my lowest hdcp (6.5) and with a few friends that have had aces of their own, I actually was recently thinking that it was going to be my time eventually, hopefully sooner than later. In an real effort to dial in distances, I finally decided to commit to one ball, and one ball only, the Titleist ProV1. Sure, I've played em before, but I'd mix in other balls here n there too...not anymore. I'd also recently decided to accept the fact that I naturally baby-fade the ball, and I should just play it instead of trying to correct it all the time. Since these changes (probably 2months ago) I've scored a lot more consistent and enjoyed my rounds even more.

It was during my last round, May 11 2012, on the par3 12th Hole at FoxCreek GC in Atlanta, GA that the day I've awaited finally came. 115yds, so a 53deg wedge and my Titleist ProV1 were my choice of attack. The pin was 3 paces inside the fringe from the front, and a tall bunker is placed in front, blocking direct sight to the hole itself. I played a high baby-fade, struck perfectly, that took one good hop (which we saw) before striking the flagstick. Initially excited, I brushed off the notion that it was actually in because we could not see it. My buddies Travis and Cody (first round of golf for him) drove up to the hole with me to find my ball was nowhere to be seen (heart starts to race a bit). After I walk up to find my ProV1 resting nicely in the hole, I savor the moment before reaching to grab it. High-fives went around along with possible scenarios we were trying to conclude as to how it went in. We later did find out from the group on the next tee box that it was a one-hop dunk!!!

Before leaving the green, still in obvious disbelief that this accomplishment finally came to fruition, I grabbed my iPhone to take pics and video to document my long-awaited triumph. Finally, after a round of (2-over) for the day, we went inside where I made true to the tradition and bought my buddies a round of drinks on me as we sat on the grass and watched other players on the practice range... The ball and card will definitely be mounted on the wall.

Thank you Titleist, for the ball that made it happen, the #1 ball on golf, The amazing ProV1 !!!
