FBI Golf Outing
By David A On 2 October 2011
I was asked to play in a FBI Ohio Southern Region 4-Man Scramble Golf Outing with mutual friends at Fairfield Greens. I was familiar with the course and always ready for the camaraderie/competition these events entail. Hole #5 is a Par-3, 144 Yd., where the green sits somewhat hidden behind a large bank of earth. On this day the pin was up front and you could only see the top of the pin. It was a brisk, windy day, with the wind into your face. When it was my turn to hit, I selected an 8-Iron. I struck it well and dead-on(for change) and the ball went high, over the bank and appeared to land at the front edge of the green. Comments heard, " That's going to be close". I didn't know how close until we walked up to the green and found my ball in the cup. I'm 71 years old and it was my first Hole in One in 35 years of playing the game.
