First Ace Makes For Happy Scramble Partners
By Brett P On 1 October 2012
4 man scramble at Tot Hill Farm Golf Club in Asheboro, NC to finish a 6 day golf trip to Pinehurst. We birdied the first 5 holes and then I hit first on the blind par 3 6th hole. Pin was tucked to the right and you could only see the top of the flag. Breeze in our face, slightly uphill playing about 138 yards. Hit a soft 9 iron. Second teammate hit a good shot as well. Our other two players missed the green. We walked up over a rise and saw the green and only one ball was visible. My buddy says, yours must be in the hole! I though maybe it had gone long. WRONG! ACE! Now we are -7 thru 6. Finished the front side -9 for a 28. Only managed -6 for a 29 on the back for a total of -15, 57 to win the scramble. (37-35, Par 72). What a way to end an enjoyable trip!
