Today was a fantastic day. i went golfing with two of my regular golfing partners and my son. The first 8 holes at Spessard Holland golf course in Melbourne Beach, Florida were uneventful. Then we got to the 138 yard 9th hole. Today it was playing 146. A slight breeze into our faces. i grabbed my AP1 6 iron and gave it a nice easy swing. my normally well struck ball has a slight fade to it. well, today the ball left the club and started it's familiar slight fade towards the hole. I knew it was going to be good be didn't realize how good.
The ball landed just short and rolled towards the hole. we couldn't tell where the ball ended up but my son said "Dad, i think the ball rolled in". I couldn't tell for sure but my heart started pumping. My other two playing partners finished their tee shots and i tried not to get to excited, just in case.
As we approached the green it was evident that there was no ball. Now my heart was racing!!!!! i walked up to the hole and peered in and my Pro V1 was looking back at me. I let out a yell and high fives were exchanged all around. Since we were on 9 we made a beeline to the clubhouse to get some drinks for everyone.
I was on cloud nine the rest of the round. I finished with a 77 (36-41) which is a career low for me.
Getting my first hole in one is fantastic but getting to experience it with my son is the best feeling. something we can talk about forever. now i can't wait till he gets his first. I have been getting better and better since i bought my new AP1s a year ago. I love them and coupled with the best ball, Pro V1, they have really helped my game.
