First hole in one ever at Mill Valley Golf Course
By Gil P On 11 August 2015
I had the first hole in one ever at 8:45 A.M. Thursday, August Sixth, 2015, at Mill Valley Golf Course one of the oldest courses on the west coast, a tricky difficult par 32/33 nine hole originally opened in 1927. I'm seventy six years old and have been playing since I turned 50. It happened on hole #2 a longish (185 yard) par three, downhill over a creek to a small green. I hit a Titleist Pro V1X with a four wood. I was just playing with one other guy since a lot of my usual playing partners are on vacation. We both lost sight of the ball when it bounced up on the green. We both have pretty good eyes for our age but it was a long way away. When we got up to the green I was looking around when the other player suggested that I 'look in the hole" and there was my ball. I registered the hole in one with Gil Bennett the head pro there at Mill Valley. Most of the time the ball I play with and depend on is either the Titleist Pro V1 or the Pro V1X. I use a Titleist Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2 putter.
