The course was Fox Hollow Golf Course in Baltimore, MD. I had been playing golf for 3 years and this was my first golf tournament ever, and needless to say... my first ACE!! It happened on the par 3, 16th hole, 143 yards, I pulled my AP1 718- 8 iron from the set that I had purchased a few months back. Chris M. shot first. He had the correct distance but his ball flew a little to the right. I was up to hit second. Rick S. had previously suggested that I slow down my swing at the top, it was too fast he said. I listened and it paid off. I aimed for the flag, swung, and made perfect contact. My ball flew true. A second later I heard a loud "clunk". My ball had hit the bottom 12" of the flag before disappearing. It took me a moment to realize what had just happened. I was unsure that my ball had gone in, but I confirmed it when I retrieved it from inside the pocket. That's the beauty of this game... you never know what the golf gods have coming your way.
