I'm a lousy golfer at best. Today, I feel like a champion!
On the 18th link at Hemet Colf Club, the 407yd Par 4, dogleg left with a water hazard to the right of the green, I had the best shot of the day (probably of my life). My drive was adaquit, about 200yds or so. While waiting a few moments for a groundsman to move out of my path with his tractor, I thought about my next shot. When he had cleared to the left, I struck the ball with my fairway wood and let it fly.
The ball hit about 10yds to the left front of the green, bounced on the green, and rolled in a sweeping arc until it disappered at the flag. I jumped and down like a crazed fan, fist pumping and all! I even 'high fived' the groundsman as I passed! When I arrived to the green and peeked in the hole, there lay my sleeping Titleist ProV1 at the bottom of the well, comfortably nuzzeling the flagstick!
Wow! My first Eagle! It's nice to be able to leave the putter in the bag!
