Great Day in Madison
By Stan L On 5 October 2012
My 1st Hole in One is like so many others, we wait so long and then when it finally happens we don't see the ball fall into the cup!
I was playing well and just missed a 10 foot birdie putt on the previous hole. Uphill and 145 yds would be an 8 iron for me but the wind was up. I hit a solid hot that rode the wind towards the flag. I was very satisfied expecting another chance for birdie or at least an easy par. When we got to the green it appeared that I had gone over to my disbelief. But there was nothing long so I asked one of my partners to check the cup. He turned and smiled with his arms raised, I only hoped he wasn't joking! I got to the cup and the Titleist 6 logo was looking straight up at me....My first thought was "Oh No" my brother is not here to share the moment! We are constant golf partners and have had many close calls. I finished the front with a 37 and had only planned on playing nine. Of course we were easily talked into the back nine where I shot a 44. I guess that I started counting strokes early and missed my goal of being in the 70's.
It was a great day in Madison, Wisconsin!
