Greatest Shot of My Life
By Jared T On 2 August 2012
I am a 4 index and love to play golf. I practice almost everyday and have dreams of someday playing competitively. I I had had numerous 'almost' hole-in-ones in my life and lost count of how many eagles I have had long ago, but I always dreamed of getting an ace. I talk about it quite often and projected how I wanted it to be a legit distance and a very well hit ball (not one that is hit thin and just happens to roll in the cup, or a sweeping push draw that luckily goes is. So....I was enjoying a great round in which I was even par. My thought was simply to hit a good shot onto the 180-yard, hole #7, par 3 green and give myself a chance at birdie and a guaranteed par. The pin was in the middle of the green and there was a slight breeze directly into us. I originally chose to hit 6-iron, but after feeling the breeze stiffen a little, I decided to go with the 5-iron and shorten up a little to keep the ball down. I executed the shot perfectly. I hit a low trajectory shot that started straight at the pin and didn't move. A guy playing in my foursome even said..."that's in the hole", while the ball was in the air. The ball hit about 10 feet in front of the pin and started to roll. I really didn't event think about it going in. I was just hoping that it would stop close to the hole for a tap in birdie. As I watched it track towards the pin, the ball simply disappeared and I immediately realized that it had gone in. I threw my hands in the air, the guys in my foursome (which included my dad) went crazy. It was super exciting and the greatest moment I've had playing golf so far. People ask me about the shot was....and I am happy to explain it to them as the best shot of my life. Problem is that now that I've doen it once....everytime I come to a par 3, I think I can do it again....
