Hole in One at Greystone Golf Club
By L David S On 14 September 2012
I've been playing golf for around 20 years. Approximately 8 years ago I got my handicap down to 18, presently it is around a 25, then because of several severe surgeries I was not able to play golf for a little over 3 years. One of my surgeries had me in a coma for 17 days and hospitalized for 4 months, but at least I lost 50 pounds.
On 9/7/12 My golf league had our annual year end tournament at Greystone Golf Club near Rochester NY. We were at hole 6, 118 yards, wind in my face, water tee to green with the hole just 20 feet from the water. I took out my 9 iron when a gust of wind hit us. I changed to my 8 iron, the ball, Titleist Pro V1, bounced once, took a little hop, then rolled very softly into the cup.
Almost all of my closest friends were there. Our league has had just 3 people get a hole in one in 29 years, and I am just the 2nd to do it during league play.
After the birth of my two children and marrying my high school sweetheart, just celebrated 30 years, this is the most exciting event in my life.
Thank You for being part of this.
