I have been playing golf since I was 13 years old (40 now) and have heard so many hole in one stories but never have had one myself. I have never even seen one in person.

I showed up at Richter Park in Danbury, CT as a single for an early morning round. It looked as if I was going to play as a single because there were a few early foursomes and then pretty wide open. The group before me turned out to be a three some and the started told me to join them, which I didn't mind because I enjoy playing with new golfers. I played a solid round up until the 12th hole where I triple bogied with two shots into the water, bogied 13 and doubled 14 with a drive OB. I was getting a bit upset because before that I was +5 on the round. I got back on track with pars at 15 and 16. Pulled up to the Par 3 17th feeling good. Card says 152 yards but my GPS said 154 with the pin towards the back of the green. I pulled a 9 iron and teed it up. Right when I hit the shot I knew it was going to be close. One guy from my pairing said, "That is right at it!". It landed a few inches short and right of the hole, took one hop and spun back into the hole. I went a bit nuts, threw my club up in the air, high fives were flying all around in the foursome. It was just an awesome experience!
