Just an ordinary weekly gathering of our golf foursome at Emeis Golf course, Davenport, IA.
My game was going great on the back nine. I arrived at the 17th hole and I teed up my ball. The others in the foursome stood on the side and watched my hit, approach and landing stating that I had a hole in one. I didn't believe it at the time.

Smiling I headed toward the green and sure enough I had a hole in one. I've been playing for several years and never thought it would happen but I can now take that off my bucket list!

My witnessess Mike Hauschild, Dave Castor and Jody Vance call me John "Back Nine" Hanes because I play better on the back nine than the front. Go figure!
