Hole In One Club Dream Fulfilled
By Phil F On 3 August 2014
It was Wednesday June 11, 2014. My golf buddies and I approached the 4th tee, a par three 149 yard hole, at Legacy Ridge Golf Course in Westminster, Colorado. It was seven weeks to the day that I had undergone my second total knee transplant. I'd been hitting the ball to the right so I readjusted my stance. I hit a solid strike with a seven iron on my Titleist ProV1x which sailed straight toward the pin. I thought I had hit it too hard, but it landed inches in front of the hole, jumped up, hit the pin, and slide down into the hole. My golf buddies took pictures and sent them to every golfer they knew. It was my very first hole in one. I bought the drinks back at the club house. I was now an official member of the hole in one club. I later joked with my orthopedic surgeon that my knee might need a readjustment. He replied that it was easier to readjust my stance. We both had a good laugh.
