Hole in One in Charity Tourney
By Tim J On 5 September 2016
I was playing in a four man scramble tourney to benefit a charity, Mission Southside at The Country Club of Leawood in Kansas City area. On our last hole (#7 due to a shotgun start), we knew we needed to be better than 14 under par to win the tourney and after first couple of players missed the green, I hit an 8 iron toward the middle of the green and a slight fade moved it to the back right part of the green where it rolled about 10 feet into the cup at the 145 yard hole. I won a prize for the hole in one (32 inch TV) so a witness had to be present and it turned out to be the former youth pastor for both of my sons, who now works for this charity. and soon after, we heard that our 16 under par score won the tourney title by 2 strokes! My 2nd hole in one with my other one being No. 6 at Whistling Straits Irish course three years ago. Tim Johnson of Olathe, KS
