Is it a Par 4 or Par 3?....

It's a beautiful warm day in East Tennessee. We pull up to hole #7, Par 4, at Centennial Golf Course in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. They are doing repairs on the tee boxes so they have all the tees moved forward. Technically on the scorecard, it's a Par 4, but distance wise it's a Par 3. We pull out the rangefinder and it reads 213 to the flag. Mind you, all you can see from this angle is the flag and a sliver of the flagstick. The green is blocked from view by hills in front. Andy Oliphant hits first followed Brandon James Riedell Givens. I'm up last. I pull out my brand new Titleist T-MB 716 4 iron and tee the ball up. I take a few practice swings, line up my shot and address the ball. As I look down at the ball I think to myself, "I teed the ball up too high!" So I bend down and make the slightest adjustment. I start my pre-shot routine again. 2 practice swings. Line up the shot. Walk to the ball, twist the club in my right hand to loosen some tension and take a few looks at the hole. TWACK! The ball shoots off the clubface and heads toward the hole. "It's a little right but it looks good" Brandon says. It was a little right of the hole but it started to move back toward it a smidge. I saw the ball bounced once and then disappear behind the hills. It felt like a great shot and I was happy with it. We drive up by the green and I see a ball just off the green on the fringe and find out it's Andy's. I don't see my ball so I think maybe it rolled over the green. But I was hesitant thinking that because it didn't look like it would have gone that far. So before I made the trek and walk behind the green to search, I pulled the 'ole "May as well check the hole and see" move. So, I walk to the hole and look inside.....WAIT! That's my cally ball with the faded dots on it resting inside the cup. "WHAT!" I yell. (I yelled loud) I couldn't believe it. I think I scared Brandon and Andy. "WHAT!" I yelled again. My first hole-in-one!!!! I couldn't believe it. It was really sitting in the cup. What?!?! I freaked out. According to a pact Brandon and I made years ago (probably 10), it said 'If we ever get a hole-in-one, that person has to take off their shirt and jump into the lake (if there is one).' So, I then proceeded to take off my shirt and head toward the lake. Belly Flop and all! It was amazing. I have always dreamed of getting a Hole-In-One. Can't believe it actually happened. Still doesn't feel real! Glad to do it with great friends. Now those two are next. #TheShotThatBringsYouBack #HoleInOneOnAPar4OrPar3
