I have not told many people this but in2006 my Dad passed away on Fathers Day, he was my constant golf partner. I hadn't a had time golfing with anyone for a while after he passed. I would go to the course late and get a quick nine in before dark. On July 22 it was my wife and myselfs 28th anniversary it also was my Dads birthday. We went for an early dinner and when we returned home I decided to go hit 9 holes. People more than likely thought I was nuts if they saw me because in a round of golf for a while they would hear me talking to Pop as I walked. That night after wishing him a happy birthday on the golf course on a rather dusky night on hole number 3 I got my first hole in one. Did not see in go in, knew it was a good shot at the pin walked up and there it was in the hole. Laughed a lot cried a little finished the round went to his grave and placed the ball on his headstone with the inscription "got my first hole in one and you are the only witness". Since then I'm back golfing with anyone that wants to, have had four more hole in ones with plenty of witnesses truth be told I can't tell you the dates of any of them not even the one less than six months ago but the one that does not count in any record book will always be on my mind, I still think of Pop often but on number 3 at Alaska golf course I think of him every time.
