I've been playing golf for nearly 40 years and have heard all the stories from friends about their holes in one as well as those of their children and grandchildren. I pretty much figured it was never going to happen for me. I'd been close a couple times but never in!

My wife and I travelled to Washington to attend the US Open in Chambers Bay. During the first part of the week, I decided to play a little golf. This was the first time I'd played Washington National in Auburn. Very nice course! I wasn't playing particularly well when I stepped up to the 11th tee - a 140 yd. downhill par 3. Because I'd been hitting it short all day, I decided to hit a little 7 iron. I plunked down my Pro V1X with the BMW logo and hit what seemed to be a decent shot that moved a little left to right and hit about 20 feet in front of the hole and rolled right in!

I was playing with two great guys, Rob and Jim, from the Tri-Cities, Washington area and Rob clicked this picture of me on the tee!
