Life Long Best Friends, Consecutive Day Holes-in-one!

During an annual outing at my buddy Jerry's member guest tournament at Hampton Hall GC South Carolina, we had a weekend we'll not forget. While playing the Pete Dye course in our warm up round, we come to the seventh hole, Par 3 playing about 165 yards. This hole has been my nemesis in past rounds, water all down the left side, short grass at the waters edge, wind blowing right to left, and my tendency to always draw the ball, I've found the water plenty of times. This time would be different. I choose 5 iron, made sure I could use my draw and have a chance of landing the green and pured the shot. I see the ball landing the green and relieved I bend to pick up my tee. The boys start yelling, "better look up" and as I do I see my Titleist Velocity ball drop into the cup!! That was my first, and the celebration ensued as Sal and Mike pull out their flask. But the story ends the next day. In our second match, Jerry tees it up on number 14, again Par 3, about 185 yards, hazards all down the left. Jerry swings, and as his ball leaves the club, he shouts, "Jerry needs a golf cart", acknowledging the prize near the tee. The ball disappears over a Pete Dye mogul, and next we hear the spotters yelling and screaming, hole-in-one. Jerry and I, we have been a little competitive over the years, but I think he wins this one. I get a bar tab, he gets a brand new golf cart!!! We will tell this story, as we tell all of our stories, over good wine, with best friends, for life.
