Memorial day hole in one
By Bill B On 11 January 2015
On May 26th playing Bethpage Blue course on the 4th hole which is 181 yards i got my 1st hole in one. Have been playing golf for over 20 years and figured i would never get one. Got close but no cigar. I was playing with 3 good friends for our regular weekly came which happened to be on Memorial day. I was the last to go in my group. HIt the ball great and it headed straight at the flag. Could not see it go in but when got up to the green we didn't see the ball. It was in the hole.
The other part of the story is that i had open heart surgery 9 months earlier and after spending 3 weeks in the hospital because of complications i was not sure what type of game i would have in the upcoming golf season. In the hospital i would wonder what would happen with my game and how bad it would be. And how much i would be able to play. The rehab had taken months with lots of hard work outs to get back into golf shape to swing the club. My season consisted of over 80 rounds and that shot turned out to be the best one ever so far for me.
