Ive been playing golf for about 20 years or so, and have come close multiple times to making an ace. While playing in our Sunday men's league, I finally did it! It came on the 6th hole of the Arroyo course at Gainey Ranch GC, in Scottsdale, AZ. I'm not particularly a fan of this hole, as I ten days to hit a cut, and the green slopes severely from left to right, into a lake. Making sure I had enough to cover the lake, and factor in for a light breeze into us, I chose 7-iron from 172 yards. It was as pure as I hit an iron in a while, and started off on the line I wanted... about 15 feet left of the flag. As it started to cut towards the pin, I knew I had enough to cover the lake. It hit the green about 3.5 feet from the cup, and pitched slightly forward. When it landed from its original pitch, it spun back and right, directly into the hole!
