After playing this game for 50 years I recorded my first ace. It was the 5th hole at Wild Wood Country Club in Rush, NY. The hole was playing at about 165 yds. with a back pin and a slight head wind. I hit a 19 degree, hybrid 3. The ball was cutting slightly as it hit the front third of the green and tracked uphill to the cup. I didn't see it actually go in, but I knew it was close or possibly even over the green. When I got to the green, I could just see the top of the ball in the cup, resting against the flag.
