Our foursome teed off in 40 degree temperature with 10-15 mph wind. We came to the 125 yard par 3 over a pond with the cold breeze in our face. The opposition team hit first, both hitting the green. My partner Pat Malone suggested I club down to a 9 iron, a wise man that Malone. I hit what seemed like a shot that was all over the pin, it hit pin high right hopped once and spun back into the hole. Four grown men started jumping up and down like children, it then hit me what a truly exciting experience for all of us to witness a hole-in-one. Needless to say,it was a great day for a 60 year old and one more item crossed off my bucket list.
