My Second Hole in One was Better Than My First

I played in a foursome with my husband Rick and two friends, Carl and Jeremy McDavitt on Sunday, September 3, 2011 at Bass River golf course in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod. It was about 75 degrees out, mostly cloudy and very windy. The ninth hole is situated on the edge of Bass River which provides a fluctuating wind from left to right. The tee box is high above the green which has sand bunkers and unplayable rough around the front of the green. There was a stiff wind coming off the water so my plan was to hit into the wind so that it would carry my ball to the green. I chose my 5 iron based on the fact that I usually hit it 120 yards but was hitting downhill for 132 yards. I set up aiming for left of the green and took my usual practice swing. I hit my NXT Tour ball beautifully into the wind, and watched it curve right around toward the green. My ball landed about three feet from the pin, popped up and then dropped into the cup, no roll!! The ninth hole is right in front of the clubhouse and near the sixth tee so I had quite the audience. As I headed to the 10th tee, a lot of people came up to me and congratulated me. It felt surreal. I felt like I was on a cloud the rest of the day and this actually felt better than my first hole-in-one in that I actually saw it happen and was with more friends and witnesses sharing in my very lucky shot!!
