I have played golf for years, starting at a young age in Pennsylvania, got pretty good at it with a 2 handicap. When moving to the Raleigh area of North Carolina in 2003 I found that golfing is a more expensive hobby. After taking an 8 year leave of absence from the game I picked up some new clubs in the fall of 2011, and a well priced membership at one of the local golf clubs.

When I started swinging them in the fall of 2011 I couldn't even break 100. I do have decent muscle memory so it started coming back quickly, good clubs and technology are very clutch also! Now I am back to shooting in the 70's and low 80's.

I play a semi-private golf club (Eagle Ridge) in Raleigh. Mostly I play some kind of Titleist ball, I prefer ProV1x but on 4/13/2012 I was playing an NXT Tour.

Playing from the tips by myself all day I met up with some friends on hole 12. Three holes later we came to the par 3 15th. It was playing 220 yards from the back that day and the sun was setting quickly as you can see from my posted picture. The hole is set up over a large fairly deep ravine with two sand traps on the right hand side and the green has a false front that is easily rolled off of if you are just a little short. The pin was marked as the front that day but I would have called it middle front as there was a little room to run forward without rolling backwards off the false front.

I thought I would take a little off my 4 iron, which is not my most accurate iron by any means but it usually goes about 230 or 235. I hit it poorly with a strong low draw. It hit the green once just to the right of the pin kicking left then slam dunked in the hole on what would have been the second bounce.

I was screaming like a baby and even the guys on the next tee heard me(luckily they weren't too awful upset about the noise!).

I hope to have more as I golf way too much according to some but one was very exciting to see and putting them close is always great too!
