Playing again after many years away
By Steve H On 20 October 2016
At the invitation of a friend, I recently started playing golf again. I hadn't played in almost ten years and was never better than an average golfer. I had broken 100 a few times but have always been pretty inconsistent. So this last weekend, four of us gathered to play the local par three course. Holes are anywhere from 93 to 210 yards long. My first two holes were less than stellar, 6 shots on hole one and 4 shots on hole number two. I stepped up to hole #3, a 93 yard hole with the pin placed behind (as it always seems to be) the only bunker. I hit a wedge and it headed straight towards the flag. I saw it bounce once but the lip of the bunker hid the base of the flag. My brother in law, said he though it may have gone in. As I approached the green, I started getting excited because my ball should have been close to the hole but was no where to be seen. I headed to the hole, my heart now pounding, and saw my ball at the bottom of the hole! I shot no better than 4 for any of the following 6 holes but my day was already made! Sadly, no one thought to take a picture.
