Playing golf that day was a good idea after all

Most days all you have to do is say golf and I am on my way to the course. But Wed. Sept. 21, 2011 was a little different. I was very busy at work and had no vacation time left except what I had scheduled for my wife and I to return home for the Holidays. But the commissioner of our golf league was able to convince me to use a half a day to play a make up round since it was the only day that would work for him. The only condition I had was, YOU CAN NOT tell my wife. Hole number 8 at Lyon Oaks changed that. A 129 yard with Marsh land front left and a big bunker short right, but nothing but short green grass all the way to green. I played a punch 7 iron in hopes of keeping my Titleist DT SoLo straight and there was plenty of green past the hole in case I went long. The ball landed about 2 feet short of the flag, hit the stick, went left about two feet, and spun right into the back of the hole. I no longer feel bad about having to change our holiday plans and telling my wife I left work early to golf.
