Shadow

This is my second hole inone, but the first was many years ago. The recent hole in one occurred during a qualifying round for our clubs Ryder Cup format competition.

I stated on hole #4 so #6 was my 3rd hole to play. It was early morning and there was a shadow on the top 1/3 of the green.

When I hit the shot I saw that it was going to be on the green and appeared to be running towards the hole. I wa shappy to have what I thought was an easy par or perhaps a birdie. The shadows kept anyone from seeing the exact ending of the balls run.

When our foursome approached the green I saw 3 balls but not the 4th. I suspected mine had rolled across the green and was in some heaavy rough. I crossed to look for it but did not see it. I asked the guys with me if they had theri balls. Someone suggested I look in the hole. I did and sure enough there it was.

With so many holes to play to complete the round I didn't get to really celebrate and enjoy the shot until later. Unfortunately, I did not concentrate as much as I shouuld and did not make the qualifying team, but I look forward to next year and a great start due to another hole in one.
