In the summer of 2004 my Mother was very ill with terminal breast cancer, as her time came to an end we had talked about her leaving earth and beginning her journey to heaven. In Mom's final days I asked her to work some magic when she made it up to heaven and see if she could send me down a hole-in-one. On July 30th of 2008 I was playing with my buddies at Red Tail Gold Club in Avon, Ohio where I lived. We were on the 8th hole and hole-in-one chatter began. My buddy Eric had been playing golf for 25 years and says " I have never had a hole-in-one or seen a hole-in-one, but I have had a double eagle and seen a double eagle" This struck my as very odd and said" I can't believe that you have had a double eagle and seen one, but have never even seen a hole-in-one". As I was just getting ready to hit, Eric says "Have you ever had a hole-in-one?" I said "In 1991, but I guess I just took it for granted and thought I would have many more...it's been 17 years, but one would think I am about due" I took a little waggle and began my swing, hit a high draw that was drawing towards the pin so much I was just holding my pose. Waiting to see how where this gorgeous shot was going to bounce I saw nothing - it was like an optical illusion, like the ball just disappeared - I looked around stunned and heard a loud delayed noise that obviously shot back from the pin and I said "Where did it go" and my buddy Mike was running at me full speed and he said "you jarred it" Nick, Mike,Scott and Eric all celebrated with me as it was a perfect slam dunk into the hole. Never in my life have I seen this happen. The following year a proposed to my wife, Kristina with her engagement ring in the hole and surprised her on my Mother's Birthday! The very next year we were married on that very samegreen and now have 2 little girls - Sedona & Brecken.
