The par 3 hole number seven at Rutherfordton Golf Club is a short 128 yards from the white tees. There is a slight hill in the fairway so the green is hidden just over the horizon and only the flag is visible from the tee. After I hit my shot I knew I had hit it close but with not being able to see the green I didn't know I had made a hole in one. As I was walking toward the green and got far enough that I could see the green I didn't see my ball anywhere on the green. My first thought was I had hit it over the green so I first walked to the back of the green but still no sign of my ball. After maybe 30 seconds or so of looking for my ball behind the green it dawned on me, " hey it might be in the cup" I thought to myself. I got to the hole and looked down and there was my ball. That was my first and only hole in one so far but hopefully not my last.
