The $10K Shot

I was playing at the course I played the most growing up with four of my friends. We got to the 7th hole, which is the only par 3 on the front nine, and an employee from the course was on the tee box. He mentioned that they were doing a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. $20 to play and on the green gets your money back, inside the flag stick earns $100, and a hole-in-one gets a $10,000 prize. I decided to play since it was for a great cause, and I hit a solid 7 iron from 158 into the wind. We couldn’t see it hit the green but knew it would be on, and possibly within $100 range. We drove up to the green and couldn’t see my ball. I walked past the hole and looked down, not expecting to see my ball. But there it was! I couldn’t believe it. This was my second hole-in-one (first one was a 115 yard pitching wedge), but this one was made a little bit sweeter with the prize!
