The Canyons of Blackjack Ridge
By LSteidley On 22 March 2018
My son, Robert and I used to play a lot of golf together when he was growing up. He is now nearly 40 and as life would have it we play less due to competing requirements. On the 8th of March 2018 I thought I would ask my son to play a round on the following day. He surprisingly stated that he would. I also asked one of my standard playing partners, Gary. We teed off at 11:10 on the 9th at Sand Springs Oklahoma. We played the first hole and then turned to hole number 2. A 138 yard par 3. I played 2d and used a Titleist 710 8 iron that my son had purchased for me back in 2009 while we were in Honolulu. The three of us watched, as the ball he had also bought me at Christmas, hit the green and found the bottom of the cup. I was so lucky to hit the hole in one, but more thankful that my son was there with me and witnessed the club, ball and his dad experience this once in a lifetime event. By the way the shot did feel like butter!
