The Unthinkable

Yesterday evening playing the executive course at Ridgecrest in Nampa, ID. I tee’d off on hole 1 around 6:45 I believe. After a typical bogey round of golf through the first four holes, I found myself at the fifth tee box on the white tees with a middle pin. According to my GPS on my phone, I was 159 yards out from the center of the green, with a center flag stick. I grabbed my 7-iron and tee’d the ball just barely above the playing surface. I took my swing and made great contact. I watched the ball make a slight left to right draw, land on the green, no bounce and watched it roll to the right towards the hole. The ball then disappeared. I assumed that it was sitting behind the pin where I could not see it. Part of me also believed I had just made my first hole in one. Just in case that latter was true, I pulled out my phone and started recording from the tee box. I proceeded recording during my walk to the green. Commentating at the same time (the best I could) As I made it to the green the ball could not be seen. I went and recorded on my phone the pitch mark, which I could easily identify. Next I approached the hole and sure enough my ball was in the cup. Never in a million years did I expect this to happen. I could not be more excited. Feel free to ask to see the video, or maybe I can find a place to upload it here! -Jason Nampa, ID
