In the early morning on the day of my First Hole-In-One, as a fairly new golfer, I was giving myself all the excuses not to play. The day before, I had hit myself in the right ankle with a 5 wood at the driving range for standing too close to the rope. On top of that, I was going to play with golfers with 15 handicaps and a board member who all have been golfing for over 30 years, intimidating to newer golfers. But I pushed myself to show up at the club, and decided to ride due to the injury. I played with a Titleist ProV 1x ball that belonged to my husband with his initials marked in pink (he had used my sharpie when we last played together). It's funny how Titleist Pro V1 balls have the special effect on me, when I address a Pro V1 ball, all the worries were gone. On #15 (135-yard, severe uphill mostly carry, with a fast uphill, 2-tierd green), I just went and hit my ball, it went to the back of the first tier. As usual, the ball started rolling back toward the front where the pin was placed. In the few rounds I'd played there, my ball normally would roll off the green. My cart partner and I drove up and started walking toward the green and there was only one ball on the green. So, I went back to the cart to get my 60 degree, prepared to chip back onto the green. My cart partner kept saying that she thought it might be in the hole as she was walking toward the pin. And, there it was! My first hole-in-one. Thanks Titleist! It was great fun! The club bought everyone who came by that day a free drink with our automatic hole-in-one insurance. Yaeh!!
