Torrey Pines South Hole 3 Pro V1 ACE!
By KSahnd On 19 February 2016
Got my first hole in one yesterday!! Playing at Torrey Pines South, signature hole number 3 over looking the beautiful Pacific Ocean and La Jolla Shores. It was an absolute perfect day and we teed off from the blue tees on the upper deck. The hole was playing 163 with a middle pin. I hit a 9 iron and it felt great off the club face. No one saw the ball but we all heard it hit the green. One other player hit the green and the other two hit left of the hole and bounced into the canyon. When we pulled up to the green we only saw one ball right of the pin so I grabbed my wedges and putter thinking I must have rolled or bounced off the back of the green. We confirmed the only ball on the green was the other guy's and I must have went over the back, which is only a couple feet before the canyon. I walked around the back of the green and didn't see a ball. Gosh darnit! Maybe I hit the ball too flush and caught some wind to blow it over the back of the green and will need to drop one. My mind goes from hitting a great shot to having to drop the ball, but as other 11 handicaps know, this happens too often. But all of a sudden I looked in front of the cup and saw a ball mark about 3 ft in front of the hole. Could this be my ball mark? Could my ball be in the hole? I quickly ran, without making foot marks in the green, to the hole and looked in and there was my ball!! A white Titleist Pro V1 looking up at me. I will never forget that image. My first hole in one at the majestic par 3 the PGA was playing two weeks before. I have now officially been let in the front door of the Hole in One club. :) You can see my hole in one pictures on my instagram @kevbabes. Hope you enjoyed my story. Kevin
