Turning the match around with an Ace.
By JGoudy On 24 April 2016
The match was up for grabs on the back nine. I would bogie and my partners would par. I would par and they would par. We came to a short par 3 100 yards over water and up hill. Most shots that hit the green would roll off, since the green sloped away from the tee and down hill. I hit a nine iron at the pin, but thought it would roll off the hill into the rough. As we walked up the hill to the green. I could not see the ball in the rough or on the green. To my surprise it was in the cup for my first hole in one. 72 years old and many rounds under my belt no such luck. This was it, a first, but my friends and competitors enjoyed the moment as well as I. The 1 was followed by 2 pars and the match had turned. The camaraderie among golfers, build friendships forever. Thank you my friends for enjoying this exciting moment with me.
