This particular "hole in one" was never intended to happen. Just hours before the "Fall Classic Tournament" was to begin, I received a telephone call asking if I could substitute for a player who was too sick to play.

I was available to play the two day tournament and joined my playing partner for the event. I played my hole in one shot just exactly as I planned and was lucky enough that the ball went in the hole.

My partner and I ended up winning our flight championship on the second day so it was a very happy weekend of golf for me, one I will never forget.

Golf can have many happy endings!
