Witnessed #5 (My First)

I had begun to think that I was Only meant to bear witness to Hole in One's, as I have done on FOUR separate occasions. But last Sunday, I was Winess to the One I had been waiting for. My wife and I will retire shortly and have recently moved to live at National Village on the RTJ Golf Trail at Grand National Golf Course in Opelika, AL. My two new Neighbors/Golf Buddies and I were playing the Links Course, and arrived at hole #9. We shot it at 147 yds. I pulled my #7 AP2 Iron and #6 ProV1x and made solid contact. I knew I had hit it well and called for it to "Be the Right Club Today"! We watched and Listened. The base of the stick was out of sight, just over the slight roll of the green. We heard the ball smack the stick. It was a loud, but deeper sound than any of us had heard from the few other Flag Stick hits any of had heard before. I expressed that I Hope it ripped out the Front of the Cup and Dug it's way to the bottom of the Cup! Well, that's exactly what it did! What a moment to share with my buddies!
