Feng caps hot streak with win in Malaysia

Titleist golf ball loyalist Shanshan Feng (Pro V1x) won the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, capping off a string of high finishes that started with a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in August.

The 27-year-old from China finished three shots clear of her nearest competitor to earn her second victory at the event and the fifth of her LPGA Tour career.

“They have some very tough greens here,” Feng said after her win at TPC Kuala Lumpur. “We have to be more accurate, and I think that’s good for me. And also, somehow, I always read the greens here very well. So this week, I made a lot of putts.”

Feng posted a 7-under-par 64 to finish up her third round on Sunday morning and then closed with a 4-under-par 67 en route to a 17-under-par 267 victory total.

Feng has finished no worse than a tie for fourth in her last six events following her performance in Rio.

In addition to her first LPGA Tour win at this event in 2014, Feng also finished runner-up last year and in 2013.

“Can I actually join the membership here?” Feng asked during the trophy ceremony. “Every time I come back here, it makes me feel like I’m at home. I really love this golf course. Can we have like ten LPGA events here on this course?”

The tournament was played on TPC Kuala Lumpur's East Course, a week after Titleist Brand Ambassador Justin Thomas successfully defended his title on the West Course in the PGA Tour's CIMB Classic (click here for the full story).
