Not sure on the fairway woods, but I do have the same thing occurring on a couple of my Volkey wedges. Firthermore, I have not sharpened the grooves either. I figure it must be from too much practice in the sand traps wearing the chrome finish off.

Played in a competition on Saturday. Started of with a double bogey and played level par to the 16th. missed the green right at the 16th and 17th. pitched in for birdie twice in a row using my 58 degree Titleist vokey wedge. shot 69!!

Totally depends on the player. Your best bet would be to go to an authorized Titleist fitter and get fit for them and hit some demos. We have several demo hybrids and fairways. You can tell pretty fast which is the best one suited for your swing.
