This is the first week of the Tour seeding and validation process and as you can see, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x prototypes are in demand.
Gloves, check. 3 dozen Pro V1x golf balls, check. 3 dozen Pro V1x prototype golf balls, check. Zach Johnson's locker is stocked and ready. Time to test.
Here's a sneak peek for Team Titleist of the new Titleist Pro V1 prototype golf balls that found their way into the lockers of a number of players at the McGladrey Classic.
Titleist Golf Ball R&D fitting experts Fordie Pitts and Jeff Beyers are off to the Seaside Course to conduct some on-course fitting sessions. Team Titleist went inside the ropes with them to check it out.
Working on the perfect fit. Titleist Ambassador Troy Matteson and Pitts discuss the new Pro V1. Charlie Wi and Dean Wilson, both Pro V1 loyalists, also tested the prototype as the three enjoyed a quick practice round on Tuesday.
A stray walkie-talkie? Or a potential pin placement? Caddies take note...
Green to tee testing. Next up, two shots from 165 yards out. One with Bo's current golf ball (Pro V1) and one with the prototype.
Bo rolls a few more putts to get the feel.
Let's take a listen to what Bo had to say... "Those two three woods I hit there [one with each ball]... I may have caught the new ball a little better, but that thing went."
Now to the tee. Bo unleashes his new Titleist 910Fd to compare ball flight, distance and dispersion between the two golf balls.
