  1. In 2003 I was fitted with DCI 762 with FCM Rifle shafts, standard lie with shafts one inch longer adding some offset. In 2014 I was fitted with and selected the AP1 iorns thinking that because I am getting older I could use some extra forgiveness? I was not pleased with the iron, just didn't feel right at set up and distance was unreliable. I switched back to my DCI 762 and was hitting the ball so much better. I am thinking about getting fitted for the AP2 or the new AP3. Since I have grown up in the plains with wind I have developed a low ball flight which I like. What shaft would be the closest match to the FCM Rifle shaft? My handicap is a 4.1 Any feed back would be great!

I would go see a certified fitter and tell him what you are looking for. He is the expert. With respect.

Going through a full fitting with as many heads as you can swing - "there's a shaft for that". I recently moved from AP1 to AP3 with the AMT-Red shaft. Not that this will fit you, but this is the best performing combination we tried - and the best feel. Like graphite shafts, age is not a criteria for AP1 or any other head. How well you can control your swing determines how much forgiveness you need.
