Mitch... I was custom fit for my 712 AP1 irons. They were shipped with specific lie angles based on my fitting to ensure I had the right clubs in my hands to get the most out of my game. I have heard that over time, both the loft and lie angle of a set of irons can change particularly after years of use. My irons were delivered in January or February of 2012 and given I average almost 100 rounds per year, I would think that it is likely they are getting close to time for replacement. I have sharpened the grooves a little last year and I have certainly noticed an improvement in ball flight. What I am curious about is whether I should have my loft and lie checked on my irons, and if so, where you would suggest would be the best place to do something like that ? Many thanks for your help on this. I am sure others may be thinking of the same thing.

    Hi Darius,
While built to spec, lofts and lies on irons of that age can alter having been subject to repeated blows to the hard ground, travel, trunk time etc.

The best way to check your loft and lies is to visit a Titleist Authorized Retailer and have them send your irons to Titleist for inspection and adjustment where needed. If you have a 3rd party check them, please be sure to do some research to ensure that the facility has the expertise required to properly check loft and lie accurately and consistently.

    Cheers,
    Mitch D
