    Hey Everyone,

Been a while since I've posted and hope the golf game is treating you well! I have upgraded my driver, 3 wood and hybrid this year after a fitting with Chris Welton at the Titleist Fitting Center and couldn't be any happier!! They are just top notch there!! Now I am looking at my putter...I currently game the Scotty California Monterey 1.5 blade and realise that I may be using the wrong putter for my slight arc near straight stroke. I am trying to get an idea of what to go for and keep looking at the Futura 5W. Anybody have their two cents that they can throw me would be appreciated. I know I gotta try them but never easy to find around here.....

  2. I try other Scottys when I am in at Golftown, but I am sticking with my Cameron and Crown Newport 2. Not sure how old your putter is, but with the new inserts put in the blades since 2016, I would give them a try first. Also, I would be trying different weights, but again, I would not use anything but a Scotty Cameron blade.
Golfed with somebody on the weekend, and they were surprised I paid $500 for a putter. However, I hit my putter on average 30 times a round. It is my most important club, so besides my driver, it is also my most expensive. Money well spent.

Bob - You are bang on with your assessment. Way to many people are willing to spend $500 to $600 on a driver which they hit maybe 14 time through the course of a round at most. When you do the math and figure you use the putter for almost half your shots, it makes sense to buy the best you can for the game. After my switch to my Golo5 Scotty, my putts per round dropped an average of 4 shots on a regular basis. That is HUGE. No other club can account for that on it's own :)

Thanks for the feedback Bob and Darius! My Scotty is a 2012 and I did get in touch with Christ Welton at the National Titleist fitting center in Toronto. I am looking forward to what is recommended for my putting stroke and Chris has been bang on with every club I own. He and Ryan are top notch and highly recommend seeing them (if in the area for new clubs)
The putter is the club used every hole (for me at least, lol) so fitting is just as important as all the other clubs.

Putter fitting is as essential as fitting any other club. Fitting gets you more consistent and consistent builds better scores.

    100 percent agree with Fred
I broke down after 20 years with the same putter
And bought an new Scotty after my fitting
