Assuming i don't sell my AP1's i'd hang on to them for another few years and just reshaft them this winter. The shafts i need are DGX100s My question is the lengths, my clubs were a custom order 2 inches long and 2* upright. Since the shafts are tapered i need to order the shafts with length in mind. Basically the standard lengths for the shafts for the 4 iron is 40 inches and they decrease by 1/2 inch on down to the PW. Should I put extensions in each club of 2 inches or order, for example the 2 iron shaft that is 41 inches and just put a 1 inch extension in it? How do these shaft lengths compare to what the stock shaft lengths really are? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.

All right let me re-post...I really need input from a Titliest club fitter. I looked up the specs for the AP1's, the 4 iron shaft length is 38.5" long. When i ordered my clubs 2" long i assume they added 2" to the shaft. Is it a complete shaft or is there an extender glued in? So my 4 irong should be 40.5" long, correct?

You are correct, the standard 4 iron is 38.5" long and adding 2" gets to 40.5". The standard length for the TT DGX100 shaft is 41". I would expect that you do NOT have extensions in your shafts if they were factory made. If they were modified locally then you most definately have extensions. You can go to www.truetemper.com and find all of the shaft specs there. If you plan on doing this yourself, buy full length shafts and cut them appropriately. If you have never done this before, I would find a very good factory authorized club maker to do this for you.

Since i have tapered shafts i have to buy replacement taper shafts. To do this, at least through Golfsmith, i have to order each shaft individually. So for a 4 iron i'll order the X100 40.5" long and should be all set. I have never done this before but i have to learn somehow, especially by getting feedback from a technical community such as this message board, and local experts. I'm just testing the waters to try and gauge the level of difficulty. Thanks for the response, if you have anyother inputs please let me know.

We do not add extensions to our clubs.  We build using raw shaft lengths.
